An fMRI study testing an exposure-based intervention to support eating in Anorexia Nervosa
This study is aimed at assessing and targeting food-related fears and anxiety in people with Anorexia Nervosa. The assessment entails: 1) a brain scan; 2) a structured interview; 3) a set of questionnaires; 4) 2 brief computerised tasks. The assessment will be followed by 8-10 sessions of gradual exposure to food. The content of the exposure sessions will be discussed and agreed by both the therapist and the participant. A follow-up assessment including the same measures as the first assessment session will be conducted at the end of the intervention.
