Media Complaints

Media coverage can help promote awareness of body image and eating disorders and help change attitudes. However bad reporting can deepen misunderstandings and contribute to negative attitudes around the issues. If you have seen inaccurate, misleading or inappropriate reporting then you can make a complaint to one of the following bodies:

Press Complaints Commission

If you have a complaint about coverage in a newspaper or magazine, your first step should be to write to the editor. If you are unsatisfied with the response or don’t receive one within a week then you can consider making a complaint to the Press Complaints Commission (PCC). The PCC take complaints from the public and consider whether the reporting is in breach of their code of practice.
