Skills for Carers

From planning and preparing meals, to offering emotional support and also looking after their own and their families needs, parents, siblings and friends of those with an eating disorder are important.

Skills For Carers

The Project

Carers (parents, siblings, friends) can often feel confused, isolated and unsure of how they can help their loved one when diagnosed with an eating disorder. This project aims to help! We have collaborated with a team of world-class academics from Kings College to produce a DVD which helps carers learn skills and techniques from the highly renowned New Maudsley Approach to caring for someone with an eating disorder.

The DVD

The DVD teaches the skills and techniques of the New Maudsley Approach through a series of 17 videos of different daily life scenarios. Carers have found it to be engaging, easy to understand and supportive.
